Close Brewery Rentals and ECasks unite! - 2 June 2008

In a move designed to extend its product range and cement closer ties to customers, container rental company Close Brewery Rentals Ltd has acquired ECasks.

ECasks has grown rapidly since it was established by Andy Thompson in 2006, providing a fill based rental solution to real ale breweries trading with wholesalers. Close Brewery Rentals aims to continue the growth through significant investment in the cask population and infrastructure.

Andy Thompson, remaining in charge as Director of ECasks, says "I am really excited about the prospect of working with Close Brewery Rentals, they have shown a huge commitment to my business, and the industry. With the future plans we have for ECasks I can't wait to get started on the next phase of our development".

Close Brewery Rentals is a subsidiary of London based Merchant Bank Close Brothers plc. MD Peter Godwin commenting on the acquisition revealed "ECasks is a fantastic product and Andy is so enthusiastic about his business. From day one I have been really impressed with the level of customer service he delivers which mirrors our own objectives so it was natural that we should try and find a way to collaborate".
